Anderson Valley’s climate and daily weather patterns are ideal for Pinot Noir. Summer temperatures can reach the high 90’s, but afternoon Pacific ocean breezes and occasional fog cool the valley and refresh the fruit with nightly lows in the 50’s, creating perfect sugar and acid balance in the winegrapes.
Toulouse Vineyard is 21-acres, planted to Dijon clones 115, 667, 777 along with Wadensville 2A and most recently, Pommard.
Since 2002, MacPhail Family Wines has focused on harvesting all three Dijon clones.
Facing south-southwest just 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean, the vineyards elevations range from 300 to 500 feet. Gravelly Pinole Loam soil facilitates deep-seeking roots and excellent drainage.
